Everyone’s favourite costume-wearing, beer-drinking, gold-chasing Irish day is this Sunday and Stellenbosch has a lot of celebrating opportunities lined-up. Here are a few places to check out this weekend:

Aandklas – St. Patrick’s Double Day

Aandklas promises to have you seeing double with their drinks special for the whole St. Patrick’s weekend. They’ll start things off with a karaoke night on Saturday and will be continuing the party on Sunday. They’ll be offering the following specials:

2 x Guinness for R60

Leprechaun for R25

2 x Jose Cuervo for R25

Springbokkie for R10

De Lapa – St. Patrick’s Arrives Early

De Lapa will start off the party on Saturday afternoon and will continue to help find “the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow”, as explained on the event on their Facebook page. They have a selection of DJs that’ll make finding that pot of gold much more fine-tuned.

They’ll also be hosting a costume competition and winners will receive a R250 bar tab. Best dressed digs will receive a R1 000 bar tab.

De Lapa is also adding something new to the mix with a minute of madness every hour. According to the event on their Facebook page, an Irish “jig” will be the sound that signals selected drinks costing R8 – for only two minutes.

St. Patrick’s Day at The Trumpet Tree

Live music, costumes and a downing competition – this sounds like St. Patrick’s Day done right!

The Trumpet Tree will be hosting this jol with their well-known two for R150 pizza deal. There will also be a 3L Castle Lite beer tower option for R130. The winner of their best-dressed competition will receive a R200 bar tab. If you’ve been training to down your drinks, now is your chance! There will also be a drink-downing competition.

The Happy Oak

The Happy Oak offers something beyond just drink specials and good news – it lasts the entire weekend!

On Saturday evening they’ll be celebrating the day with a performance by dubstep artist Grimehouse. On Sunday they’ll have bottomless PK Lager draughts at different times of the day (13:00–14:00; 15:00–16:00; 17:00–18:00). For this deal, R200 gets you as many PK Lager draughts as you can drink within the given hour. Another exciting thing happening, is the Adam and Eve Collab pop-up store which will be hosted by The Happy Oak on Sunday (15:00–18:00).

The Mystic Boer

Mystics are also celebrating St. Patrick’s Day the entire weekend, with a Hunter’s deal – two beers for R40. On Sunday they’re selling the Irish classic, Guinness, for R35. But drinks specials aren’t all there is to look forward to. On Sunday they’ll be entertaining party-goers with live music. They’ll also be serving 600g wings and chips for R119 with two Hunter’s beers for free.
